<li>Procurement is the acquisition by means of a public contract of works, supplies or services by one or more contracting authorities from economic operators chosen by those contracting authorities, whether or not the works, supplies or services are intended for a public purpose. (Directive 2014/24/EU, Article 1(2)).</li><li>At its inception phase, the Procurement can be thought as a "Procurement Project".</li><li>Procurement Projects are implemented through a Procurement Procedure or through the Lots of a Procurement Procedure.</li><li>Procurement projects have a purpose which include aspects such as the subject-matter, the place of performance, contract nature, estimated duration, and other elements.</li><li>The Procurement Project has an estimated value. These estimations are later on confirmed or finally established and reflected in the Contract and announced through the Contract Award Notice.</li><li>The Procurement Project may use  Techniques (see Technique Type).</li><li>The Procurement Project may use Funds provided by the European Union.</li></ol>
